The goal of this Human Trafficking course is to define the crime and dynamics of worldwide issue of Human Trafficking while increasing awareness. This course outlines how the dental healthcare setting and providers are well positioned to screen and render aid as well as offer resources to survivors of this crime. Dental healthcare providers have a fundamental duty to learn to recognize and aid survivors of human trafficking. Awareness of this human tragedy increases prevention of future victims. The State of Florida has passed Human Trafficking, Chapter 2019-152, Laws of Florida, which establish new profession requirements including newly required training, signage, and support services to victims-survivors to the various segments of the affected US population. This course is mandated by the State of Florida Board of Dentistry as a license renewal requirement for all dentists and dental hygienists. This course is approved by the Board of Dentistry and will confer two hours of continuing education to all completers through CEBroker.com
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the dental healthcare provider will be able to:
